The initial sounds of his extraordinary introduction to the jazz classic ‘Lush Life’, pianist Jef Neve introduces the Db tonality with a spectral glissando from the inside of the piano. The sound is gradually minimised to the Stuart piano’s 2nd lowest note of the 102 compass, Db0 ,by a gradual careful release of the damper pedal.
